ISIS marks on the wall indicate that the neighborhood was cleaned from satellite dishes.

Convoy is stopped because on the next crossroad there is a very active sniper. So while the first car is trying to do something about it we are parked.

Friendly civilians (at some point we had to look for cover in their house).  The first thing they said was “do not take a picture with this stupid beard” and asked if we had cigarettes (smoking was not allowed by ISIS). They haven’t left the house for the past 2 weeks during the fighting and told us that ISIS fighters who are now fighting against us on their street are Russian speakers – from Tajikistan and Kazakhstan (and one Syrian)
