Friendly civilians (at some point we had to look for cover in their house).  The first thing they said was “do not take a picture with this stupid beard” and asked if we had cigarettes (smoking was not allowed by ISIS). They haven’t left the house for the past 2 weeks during the fighting and told us that ISIS fighters who are now fighting against us on their street are Russian speakers – from Tajikistan and Kazakhstan (and one Syrian)
